Are You Convinced that the Family of God will Ask, Seek, and Knock in Prayer through All Eternity?

Tip! An effective prayer life can have a huge impact on not only our own individual life, but on the lives of those around us. Through prayer we can have an impact on our local community, our country and the world.

"...Every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." -- Luke 11:10.

It is necessary to for us to think about Christ's teachings concerning our daily bread in order to fully comprehend these three basics principles of prayer, "ask, seek, and knock." We definitely owe it to ourselves and to all people, to think seriously about the fundamental principles of prayer shown to His disciples in answer to their request, "...Lord teach us to pray ..." The very core of this appeal is in itself a prayer to know how to pray.

In the Lord's Prayer, our daily bread is placed as the first request to be asked for by us; "Give us this day our daily bread." The appeal for today's bread only follows the prayer of worship. "...Hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done..." This request for bread also comes before the prayer for pardon of sin and protection from evil. Can you see this? Jesus wants us to focus on the Bread of Life. Is it not obvious than what the main subject of the Lord's Prayer is, according to the teachings of Jesus?

Remember Jesus telling us the parable of the man seeking the three loaves of bread from the baker at midnight? The importance was on the bread. If you read on in that same passage, our Lord was emphasizing the need for bread when He concludes His talk by capturing our attention on the son asking bread from his father ( Luke 11:11-13 ).

Can we not see clearly now that Christ's teachings on the asking of bread contain a much more important meaning than just our temporal needs in this life? He obviously planned to stress the fact that we need spiritual food in order to live in time, here, and in eternity, the hereafter. Can you remember how surprised Jesus' disciples were when He said, "I am the bread of life?" When He voiced these words He was making it clear that we cannot live one single day without Him, for He is as necessary to our spiritual lives as bread is important to our physical lives. (See this for yourselves in John 6:48-58.)

Tip! Let us always be aware of the fact that the power that is achieved to do the greater works that are required for Christ, is only gained through fervent prayer and faith in Jesus Christ.

When we sincerely ask for our Lord Jesus, we will receive Him; when we earnestly seek Him, we will find Him; and when we knock at His door, it will be opened to us. These three basics of prayer are enthusiastically understood when we apply them to our Savior, who is our Living Bread from heaven.

Are you as thoroughly convinced as I am that the redeemed family of God will ask, seek, and knock in prayer throughout all eternity? Our prayers will not be bogged down by our weakness in this body and mind as we are in this world now. And every day we are more aware of the fact that we do not know what we should pray for or how to pray for what we need. But in that holy place with a clear mind and a glorified body we will be able to make our requests known to God our Father.

Tip! “Asking of God” and “receiving” from the Lord - direct request to God, immediate connection with God - that is true prayer.

I can find nothing in our Master's teachings to show us that we will ever become self-sustaining in life, both in this world or in the world to come. Is there any legitimate reason then to believe that this relationship will end when we enter heaven? Of course not! It is very plain to see that our Lord wants us to understand this amazing fact; that He made the request for bread the central topic of family life. It is certainly true then, that as long as we live in our Father's house we have to depend on Him to sustain us. Psalms 23:6 says that that is for ever.

That is why I am persuaded that the original principle of asking and giving will continue in all eternity. God affirmed this primary rule of His family when He said to the Son,

Tip! A person’s character is always demonstrated in their behavior. The Savior again said,“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good ...” -- Luke 6:45

"Ask of me, and I shall give thee..." -- Psalms 2:8

This amazing rule of asking and giving was clearly an essential part of the Savior's ministry on earth. We find this same basic principle in the wonderful truth that He ever lives to make intercession for us.

These three necessary principles of prayer are also shown in nature. It is true that every living thing in creation must be fed. Every plant, insect and living creature on earth has to ask, seek, and knock in order to get food from nature. If we can accept this obvious fact without question; then we must believe that eternal life in heaven will not be sustained free of our relationship with Christ. He supplies our needs in this world day by day in answer to our prayer, and He will keep on supplying our eternal necessities in answer to our prayer. If this is the rule of our Father's household on earth, then why would we ever think it will not continue to be the rule for ever?

If Our Unsparing Father Places No Limit on Our Praying then there is No Limit Placed on His Giving

Tip! Talking to God – This is the one on one type prayer – where we converse with God to develop our relationship with him. We may ask him to help us in areas that we need spiritual, physical or emotional support.

". . . Every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." — Luke 11:10.

I don't think that Jesus could get anymore simpler in His teachings then in this settlement to us. He is giving us a valid reason to trust that every sincere prayer offered by His people will be answered. Again, I must say that it is only the genuine prayer that our Father hears.

"Ask, seek, and knock." Jesus stated these three fundamentals of prayer all through His ministry on earth. He revealed these three essentials of prayer in His parable about the man asking his baker friend for three loaves. It is pretty clear that he was asking for bread, seeking and knocking for bread in the middle of the night, making his request known over and over.

Our Master's words are helpful in showing us the only accepted principles of effectual praying. It confirms our faith, increases our understanding, and enables us to properly ask, seek and knock for His certified promises. Is it not obvious that His promises concerning prayer are as measureless in scale as the degree of His promises belonging to salvation? The Holy Spirit had Paul write this down for us, to help us understand why.

"He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things." -- Rom. 8:32.

Tip! •Approach God in prayer and ask for a fit body. • Get clear and visualize your fit body and believe.

Wow! Ok, think about this, if our unsparing Father places no limit on our praying then there is no limit placed on His giving. If we believe that Christ was sacrificed to save us to the utmost, we have to believe that He is able to supply all our needs completely. This Scripture above shows us that the possibilities of prayer are as great as the unlimited measure of His redemptive grace. Wow again!

The regrettable and true fact is that we have been extremely slow to understand the unlimited possibilities of prayer as shown in Christ's simple words. In fact we are still unsure and some times we even doubt this promise is for us. It is when we fully understand His instructions about praying, and grasp these promises by faith; then and only then will we not find it hard to pray the effectual fervent prayer of achieving faith.

Our Father is Willing to Give the Bread of Life in Answer to Our Intercessory Prayer for Others

Tip! It opens the door for salvations. (Act 2:42) “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers”.

"…Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; 6For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? 7And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. 8I say unto you, though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity [wearisome persistence] he will rise and give him as many as he needed." Luke 11:5-8

When will God hear the prayers of His people? Only when we see how important praying for others really is in our Father's eyes. See how our Lord Jesus illustrated this fact, He said, "Because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needed." This need that the man's friend, the traveler had, who had stopped by his house that night, was more important than the rest needed by the baker's entire family. The man's appeal for the bread was so persistent that he did not pay any attention to the complaint that his sleepy baker friend was saying.

I am thoroughly persuaded that a great spiritual arousing will happen in this sin filled world of ours only when we, the people of God, will deny ourselves of some sleep and seek God in prayer during the peaceful hours of the morning. It is my firm belief that the great Asbury revival of 1950 has set a pattern that we should follow so that we can have a great revival in this day and time. A few students stayed up all night and prayed for others, then in the early hours of the morning God showed His glory, and over 5000 people were affected across our nation and around the world. Even today we are still blessed by that great revival because God rose up a generation of people who are still preaching, teaching and praying from God's holy Word the Holy Bible.

Could it be possible that we are too lazy and uncaring to pray for other people? Or is it that there is no passion for souls? Maybe there is no genuine concern for the lost people? Could it be that we are too sleepy and have no desire to stay up with Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane's prevailing prayer? But could it be more likely that we are too comfortable in our physical luxuries and they are far more important than our intercessory praying for others?

Tip! Jesus promised to pass on the power from heaven to accomplish greater works for Him in this world. That promise is His Holy Spirit. Jesus intended for His chosen apostles to go and bring in a lot of fruit, the same goes for us.

I don't know, but perhaps our Lord will bring some exhausted traveler of this life to our door asking for our help through our intercessory prayers. If our Father is pleased to trust us with such a great responsibility to intercede for a lost soul, let us never fall short of feeding this famished soul. What a joy it is to see a person grow strong in our Lord because we obeyed and prayed earnestly for their salvation.

This wearisome persistent man made a remarkable confession when he told his friend, "...I have nothing to set before him." It is clear that Jesus does not want to bring attention to the man's awkward shortage. But rather He is showing us that our sufficiency is not of ourselves. Paul affirmed this point when he wrote.

"Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God." -- 2 Corinthians 3:5.

When it comes to our natural ability to help others spiritually; we all are sadly inadequate and in ourselves we have nothing to put before them. We will never have anything of any spiritual value to place before this starving world unless we make ourselves available to the rich resources of Christ through prayer.

Tip! Talking to God – This is the one on one type prayer – where we converse with God to develop our relationship with him. We may ask him to help us in areas that we need spiritual, physical or emotional support.

It is not hard to picture that the man had a lazy-boy chair and of course a comfortable bed for his friend, the exhausted traveler. But what good is furniture; can it be a substitute for food? Can a warm welcome at the door, the furnishing of the house, and the entertaining conversation, satisfy the hunger of the human heart? No! It requires and can only be satisfied by the fresh bread of life, the Word of God, acquired from God, to save a famishing soul from death.

Jesus is encouraging us to make ourselves available to His resources when He stated, "...He will rise and give him as many as he needed." Remember, we have nothing of ourselves to give to save a lost and dieing soul. Who then will give us as much as we ask for in intercessory prayer? Our faithful Friend, Christ Jesus.

Jesus wants us to understand that our importunate [wearisome persistent] praying will conquer our discouragements and difficulties. He makes known this truth when He said, "...He from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee." He is not saying that our loving Father is reluctant to give us the requirements we need to help others. No! What our Master is teaching us is not to stop praying when we come across some conflicting forces in life. There are times when it seems that our earnest prayers have been unanswered. But keep in mind that our heavenly Father is willing, able and desires to give the bread of life in answer to our intercessory prayer for others.

How can We be Faithful Follower of Christ and Not Recognize Our Responsibility to Pray for Others?

Tip! A person’s character is always demonstrated in their behavior. The Savior again said,“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good ...” -- Luke 6:45

"...Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine in his journey is come to me..." -- Luke 11:5, 6.

It obviously was not the man's own personal need that made him duty-bound to ask for the three loaves in this parable. No, it was the urgent need of the tired traveling friend that moved him to request the bread at the midnight hour. This desperate man said, "...A friend of mine in his journey is come to me..." Our Lord Jesus wanted us to focus our attention on the responsibilities we have to pray for one another when He expressed these stirring words in this parable found in Luke 11.

Is it possible for us to be faithful follower of Christ, but yet not recognize our responsibility to pray for others? The spiritual life we received from Christ will motivate us as Christians to present the requests of others to God's throne of grace. This is where mercy is acquired, and the promise of grace can be found to help others in their time of urgent need. Our personal duty is to intercede for others; this is made even more evident when we give emphasis to the words, "...Is come to me..." Have you ever wondered what kind of strange combination of circumstances could have caused this man to look for help from his baker friend? Let us think on that for a moment.

Could it be that this traveler had turned on to the wrong road in the bewildering darkness of the night? We are all aware that the parable does teach the unsettling truth that people are lost in the darkness of sin, and that it is our duty as Christians to lead them to Christ. But the disgraceful dilemma of this traveler is not the only upsetting truth contained in our Lord's teaching of this story.

Notice the statement, "...A friend of mine in his journey...," this should sway us to assume that this traveler knew before he started on his journey that he could take a break in comfort at the home of his friend. So, it was this traveler's faith in his friend's reputation for hospitality. This must have been what had encouraged him to persist on his journey even through the unrelenting darkness of the night.

Tip! Let us always be aware of the fact that the power that is achieved to do the greater works that are required for Christ, is only gained through fervent prayer and faith in Jesus Christ.

The parable also shows that people will come to us when they are sure of our ability to get help for them through intercessory prayer. This news that a certain person or church can succeed with God in prayer will soon reach a huge number of hopeless and helpless people. Some person or people who are troubled in their souls will soon be knocking at our doors seeking help, rest and comfort.

Christ was always giving help and comfort to all people while He was here on earth. It was the good news that He was giving them that caused the multitudes to look for Him both day and night. His disciples also had this boldness in their preaching and this same power in their praying that drew the broken hearted and heavy burdened of humanity to seek our Savior.

Paul was speaking his gratitude to God for the church when he said in his letter to Thessalonica,

Tip! The Master will not expect more from anyone than a person is capable of doing for Him. Jesus wants us to understand that each person will be rewarded according to their faithfulness in doing their given task.

"...From you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing." -- 1 Thessalonians 1:8.

The seeking or looking for Christ by lost people is not merely by chance as some may think. No, it is the convicting and convincing power of the Holy Spirit that draws them to Himself. The Spirit of God performs His office work in this world through Christ's witnesses. This is why Jesus said,

"...The Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning." -- John 15:26, 27

Is it not obvious that the Holy Spirit causes us as Christians to draw lost people by our faithful witness of our Savior? Our Lord has not called all of His people to preach, but He has commanded all of us to pray.

Tip! “Intercession” is amplification in prayer; it is going out in broadness and fullness from ones self for others. Primarily, it does not center in praying for others, but refers to the freeness, boldness and childlike confidence in praying.

Only the great revivals were born in the hours of agonizing prayer. Only true, heartfelt, loving intercessory prayer will attract the attention of our civilized world today. Then and only then will people came for the express purpose of getting the spiritual help they need through the preaching and praying of God's servants. Please pray for the lost of our world! We are commanded to pray for them; are you?

Our Fervent Prayers Can and Will Obtain Power from the Throne of Grace

Tip! •Approach God in prayer and ask for a fit body. • Get clear and visualize your fit body and believe.

"...Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine in his journey is come to me..." - Luke 11:5, 6.

In the words above we can unmistakably see that Jesus has a ministry of prayer in mind as well as there is a ministry of preaching. In the teachings of Jesus together with this parable shows us that praying and preaching are essential parts to the plan of salvation. We can not have one without the other.

"Preaching is God's way of speaking to man, and praying is man's way of speaking to God. Preaching is God's way of appealing to the will of man, and praying is man's way of appealing to the will of God." (T.M. Anderson)

The Epistles clearly reveal Our Lord's teachings in relation to intercessory prayer. John's Epistles tells of the marvelous power that is made available to us as God's people by way of intercessory prayer. Peter guarantees that the eyes of our Lord are always watching over us as the righteous, and His ears are ever open to hear our prayers. Bro. James preached, "...The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up..." All the inspired words that were ever written down by Paul reveal the amazing things that are possible through this forgotten ministry of intercessory prayer. In Paul's Epistles to the Colossians, this ministry of prayer is linked so tightly with the ministry of preaching that it is hard to tell where the prayer ends and the preaching begins. Read it you're self in (Colossians 1:9-17.). We should pray and talk to one another in this same way; speaking God's Word and praying God's Word go hand in hand.

Notice the unlimited possibilities opened in the prayers of a faithful person and minister of Christ.

"Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God." — Col. 4:12.

What is true according to this Scripture above is that our prayers for other people of God will establish them in the faith of Jesus Christ. Is it not obvious that the fervent prayers of a worker in Christ can allow other Christians to stand faultless and whole in all the will of God? I am convinced that our fervent prayers can and will obtain power from the throne of grace. The fervent prayers of God's people will preserve some struggling saint in the hour of harsh trial and testing. Perhaps this idea is difficult for us to fully understand; nevertheless it is true it is God's Word.

Our Lord will Work Wonders in this Age of Indifference if We will Stop Limiting Him by Our Unbelief

Tip! So it is the same elsewhere in the Holy Bible (James 1:5) we have “asking” put into view as a prayer: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally, and upbraiding [scolding somebody] not, and it shall be given him.

"And now, Lord, behold their[threatening]: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth [Your] hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus." -- Acts 4:29-30

It is very obvious that from these words of the Holy Bible that these new Christians fully expected miracles to accompany the preaching of God's Word. Wow! Look again at these words; the prayer for boldness to speak God's Word also included the petition for healing, and signs and wonders. It is interesting to note that the order of the prayer places the preaching of the Word first before the performing of miracles in the name of Jesus.

Our Lord Jesus always placed more importance on preaching and teaching than He did on His bountiful ministry of healing the sick, and the showing of signs and wonders. But, we should not assume that such miracles could not be worked through the power of prayer in this day and age and with this present generation. The healing of the sick, and the signs and wonders that are performed in the name of Jesus, only go hand in hand with the preaching and teaching of God's Word.

When we give thoughtful attention to the importance of prayer this fact is clearly seen. The prayer for miracles exposes the true idea concerning the power of Jesus to heal. They asked that, "By stretching forth [Your] hand to heal..." The very presence of Jesus was so real to these praying saints that they asked Him to stretch forth His nail-scarred hand and heal the people. Because they believed in their hearts, Jesus did stretch forth His hand and touched the sick bodies of people, and they were immediately made well. Just because Christ has ascended to heaven should not changed our concept of His Divine Person. Like He did in the days when He was here on earth, Jesus is willing and able to stretch forth His hand and heal our broken bodies today. So what is the problem?

I am fully persuaded and believe that the professing Christians of today would see many more miracles of healings worked by the hand of Jesus if they would spend more time in earnest prayer for the messengers of the Gospel. The messengers of the Gospel are the ones who preach and teach the Word of God; the pastors, evangelist, Sunday school teachers, music ministers, youth ministers, missionaries and leaders of the church of Jesus. You know who they are, so pray for them that God will "…grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word..." I am also certain that our Lord will work wonders in this age of indifference, but only if we will stop limiting Him by our unbelief, and recognize the fact that miracles can be performed today by the same outstretched hand of the Holy Child Jesus, because He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

All of us as God's servants should think that there is nothing pertaining to the church of Christ more important than the waiting before the Lord in a secret place of prayer. If man of God loses his passion for souls it is because he has deliberately neglected to pray. He has no choice but to wait until his soul is on fire with holy zeal, and his mind motivated with fresh news from heaven. When he takes the proper time to pray, his preaching will inform, educate, instruct and enlighten the Christians, and the fruitfulness of his ministry will be enlarged. Luke the inspired writer revealed some amazing results from this ministry of prayer of the first church when he wrote,

Tip! Jesus said they were to do even greater works than He had achieved during His ministry in the world. Wow! Then our Master went on to show them that by praying in His Name, Jesus, this is the channel through which the authorized power is acquired to carry out the works that glorify our Father in the Son.

"And with great power gave the Apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all." - Acts 4:33

It is evident that a devoted minister can perform his work for Christ more competently when he knows that the Christians of the church want to hear the Word of God and are supporting him with their prayers and faith. Then why is it not unusual to hear some ministers say they are so burdened with the work of the church that they have very little time to spend in earnest prayer? Why is the preaching in the churches so poor and boring today? Why is it possible for a minister to become so preoccupied with his duties that he will give prayer a place of secondary importance in his life?

The record shows that Peter and John had joined the company of saints in the fellowship of prayer. This fact shows that the messengers of Christ must understand the necessity of prevailing prayer in the church of Jesus Christ as well as in a secret place of prayer. We as the servants of Christ must take on the duties of the church so that the messengers of the Gospel can wait until their souls are on fire with holy zeal, and their minds are motivated with fresh news from heaven. Then will Jesus be willing and able to stretch forth His hand and heal our broken bodies today.

Are You Happy to be Entertained by Cheap Programs and Silly Plays that make You Feel Good in Church?

Tip! One warning you should bear in mind in the matter of prayer is the negligence of this great resource. We often neglect prayer until we get into some major trouble; and then suffocating with fear, we rush into some shallow appeal to God only to realize that our prayers are not accepted which is due to the fact that we do not even believe that those very prayers would be accepted in the first place.

"...Grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word." -- Acts 4:29

This is interesting! Please notice that the believers were praying and asking God for the message of divine truth. They asked, "With all boldness they may speak thy word." They placed a high importance on "Thy word." This new Christians sought to hear God's Word acknowledged with unyielding conviction and firm confidence. They clearly wanted to be taught and shown by this message of grace and saving truth. They obviously believed that the Gospel is the power of God to bring the lost to salvation, and it is for every one that believes it.

Look again at what these believers were praying for. They were asking in prayer for the messengers of the Gospel, by asking, "Grant unto thy servants." We must notice that these Christians said, "Thy servants." They obviously acknowledged that the apostles were the servants of God. They were not viewed as servants of an institute, or a business. God had commissioned them to serve His redeemed family, therefore these Christians considered the apostles to be the called servants of God. They were Christ's holy messengers and these godly men could not be hired promoters.

What a blessing it is to find a group of people who are craving to hear the message of redeeming grace. A group that has no need and does not want to be entertained with cheap programs and silly plays that make them feel good in church. But a group of people that are hungry for the bread of life that only Christ can give.

Tip! It opens the door for salvations. (Act 2:42) “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers”.

How much moral courage is required to promote a program to entertain a group of nominal Christians in church? Or does it require a lot of courage to give a book review, or speak on current events in Sunday school? Not much when we are around people in our comfort zone. But it does require a great amount of boldness to push the claims of Christ on unsaved people, and insist that they repent of their sins and surrender themselves to Him. That kind of courage can only come from the Holy Spirit and only when we ask for it in sincere prayer.

Tip! “Asking of God” and “receiving” from the Lord - direct request to God, immediate connection with God - that is true prayer.

It does not entail much spiritual stamina to organize a promotion to raise money for the general good of the church; however it does take a lot prayer and faithful preaching of God's servants to have a genuine revival of full salvation in the church.

Please understand that when I bring up these issues it does not mean that I am making a fuss or creating hurtful criticisms of God's faithful people and preachers. It does mean however that I am gravely concerned about the praying of God's people, or I should say the lack of prayer; that is the ones who are members of the body of Christ. These same people who call themselves Christians never pray unless they are in some kind trouble.

When was the last time we prayed to God to "...Grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word." Or how long has it been since you thanked God for your salvation and asked Him for a genuine revival in the church by the faithful preaching of God's servants? When was the last time you asked Jesus to help you to live holy as He is holy? God is waiting for His church to ask for boldness in speaking His Word today so that the lost will hear His Word and come to saving grace through Jesus our Lord and Savor. Are you praying for this today?

Our God Assures Us that All Things Work Together for Good to Them That Love Him, and Do His Purpose

Tip! So it is the same elsewhere in the Holy Bible (James 1:5) we have “asking” put into view as a prayer: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally, and upbraiding [scolding somebody] not, and it shall be given him.

We will prevail in our prayers and have victory over all the combined forces of evil that terrorize us in these trying times, if we will believe the words, "Lord, thou art God," this will strengthen our faith and underline our thinking. Has our Almighty God abandon His eternal purpose because a few evil people have raised their voices against Him? Of course not! Our God has assured us that all things work together for good to them that love Him, to them who are the called according to His purpose. His permanent promises give us a strong comfort to hold on too, and of the hope set ahead of us. We must hold fast to the profession of our faith without indecision; because He is faithful who has promised.

That small assembled company of praying people prayed that the ambassadors of God's Word would have the courage needed to speak the Word. They asked,

"...Grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word." -- Acts 4:29

God's people were not praying for courage because they were moral cowards. They were very aware of the dangers that jeopardized them; but they were not too cowardly to face it with God's help. This voice of prayer was in one accord and heard by our Father in heaven. The answer was granted when the small group of devout saints prayed this unrelenting prayer in their time of crisis. Remember when the rulers of the people, and the elders in Israel had called Peter and John in to face the council of the governing branch of that day? Remember they were commanded never to speak about or teach in the name of Jesus? Wow! What a great event! Remember Peter and John's answer? Read about it yourself in Acts 4:18-19, however, read the whole chapter 4; it will revive your spirit and excite your soul to see what God will do for you in answer to prayer.

Tip! “Asking of God” and “receiving” from the Lord - direct request to God, immediate connection with God - that is true prayer.

The very heart of the Gospel is contained in the Name of Jesus. We as God's called servants could never heed to this extremely evil command. How could we be faithful to the high calling of God in Christ Jesus if we obeyed such a wicked command? In order to comply with such an unjust demand, never to speak at all nor teach again in the Name of Jesus, we would have to compromise the very truth of Christ. We would have to stop drawing attention to the fundamental theme of the Gospel's meaning, which is Jesus Christ.

God's everlasting kingdom will never be destroyed by the combined forces of the ungodly. Almighty God is never in jeopardy. He has no fear of mortal people. He will remain unchallengeable in purpose and unconquerable in power for evermore. Think about what this praying party of Jesus' followers said about God's enemies,

"For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done." -- Acts 4:27, 28

The conscienceless Herod and the cowardly Pontius Pilate are dead now. Their cruel hostility to Christ is dead and buried in the grave of that time. The violent skepticism and critical unbelief that ran extensively, less than a century ago, has stopped, in the most part, because it does not take up a popular place in a more Christ-receiving world today. This violent Liberalism that badly affects Christ's church today will soon be dead as well, buried together with the modern nonbelievers who have encouraged its destructive and deadly views on innocent people.

Tip! The Holy Bible says in (John 5:13) this statement about prayer: “And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

The continuous marching of time can never erase His unrivaled Name from the chronicles of sacred history. Possibly the sands have washed away the footprints of our Jesus of Galilee, but the world will never forget that He did live, love, and labor to save us from eternal death in Hell. The myriad of centuries that have rushed into the dateless past have not weakened His strength or ability to save us to the maximum. The last depressing day of time will not find Him buried in a tomb of that period. The evading ghost of eternity will never discover the grave of God. Why? Because He has risen so that we serve a live and healthy Savior that time has no control of; so of Him it is written,

"And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail." -- Heb. 1:10-12.

God Gave Us His Practiced Promise when He Said - I Will Never Leave You, nor Forsake You -

Tip! “Intercession” is amplification in prayer; it is going out in broadness and fullness from ones self for others. Primarily, it does not center in praying for others, but refers to the freeness, boldness and childlike confidence in praying.

". . . When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they [spoke] the word of God with boldness." — Acts 4:31.

It is interesting to note that in this prayer the company of believers did not ask the Lord to change the attitude of their enemies. God did not give in to their emotional prayer in the hour of crisis by extraordinarily changing the attitude of the determined opponents. God could have, but He did not remove the threat that endangered them; He did not even destroy the ring-leaders responsible for the persecution of the church. They, this small company of believers accepted the fact that such persecution had been prophesied and predicted in God's Word. Also Jesus had warned them this would happen while he was with them on earth.

Pastors find it hard to get the people of today established in the faith because apparently we think that God should change our surroundings in answer to our prayers. It seems difficult for the young and older people to understand that a change in our surroundings is not the answer to our spiritual troubles. We should be impressed by the fact that we cannot expect our Lord to change the attitude of our unsaved friends and acquaintances. When once the new and many older converts discover this truth we will not find it so difficult to overcome the hardships in our lives. It is equally true that a change in the moral settings that surrounds the church today is not the way out of its spiritual problem.

Look, this company of believers of the first church, found the solution to their problem when they lifted up their voice in one accord in prayer to God our Father. The answer they received made it possible for them to deal with the rising tide of spiritual wickedness in the high places such as the government and religious leaders. The Holy Spirit fortified and prepared them with a spiritual power that not any combination of the evil forces could survive effectively.

Tip! If we, God’s people expect to carry out the works of Christ that will glorify our Father, then we must believe in Him for the very work’s sake, and pray fervently in His Name.

The tormented believers were praying with a firm faith when they cried out, "Lord, thou art God." They knew beyond any doubt that it was in fact from God, this source, this unwavering assurance that motivated them to keep praying. It is amazing how powerless and unimportant the pathetic efforts of wicked people appear when we understand that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1.)

And again we can see the everlasting Word proclaims,

"The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?" — Psalm 118:6

Tip! “Asking of God” and “receiving” from the Lord - direct request to God, immediate connection with God - that is true prayer.

God gave us His practiced promise when He said, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." When has the Lord ever deserted His faithful people in their time of conflict? Never! We need to have this blessed truth fixed in or minds and in our consciousness, and permanently written on our hearts by the hand of God. When once we have grasped this fact about our God and Father, only then will we understand that it is not difficult to pray and keep on praying.

How can the Church of Christ Today Deal with the Ominous Threat of Worldliness without Prayer?

Tip! So it is the same elsewhere in the Holy Bible (James 1:5) we have “asking” put into view as a prayer: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally, and upbraiding [scolding somebody] not, and it shall be given him.

"...When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they [spoke] the word of God with boldness." -- Acts 4:31.

Of course there are many things that threaten us today. We are threatened with severe turmoil that cannot be overcome unless we keep our strength fresh by way of prevailing prayer. We cannot hope to break away from the deluge of evil which threatens to overpower us, as believers of today, unless we are constantly replenished and re-invigorated by the Holy Spirit. Even though it is written, "...They were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spoke the word of God with boldness." Every day we need a gracious refill of the Spirit of God. This is the only answer for our spiritual struggles in this time we live in. Our Lord's holy prophet Isaiah said,

"...When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him." -- Isaiah 59:19

Notice that Isaiah said, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, that "when" not if "the enemy shall come" and not maybe come; there is no doubt the enemy will come or has already arrived. So is there no hope to escape this flood of evil that threatens to overwhelm us as believers today? Not unless, of course we are daily being filled and refreshed by the Holy Spirit thought the reading of His Word and prevailing prayer.

When Paul said, "...Be filled with the Spirit," he was emphasizing the need for an ongoing daily request in prayer for the fullness of the Spirit in order to achieve the victory for Christ on this earth. This significant filling with the Spirit was clearly different in some respects from the very significant filling received on the day of Pentecost. This gracious giving of the Holy Spirit was evidently one of the times of refreshing that is to be expected when the presence of the Lord comes on us as a result of answered prayer. (Acts 3:19)

Tip! Let us always be aware of the fact that the power that is achieved to do the greater works that are required for Christ, is only gained through fervent prayer and faith in Jesus Christ.

The church of Christ today cannot deal with the ominous threat of worldliness, unless the company of believers prays for power to meet the dangerous threat. We, the company of believers cannot survive the rebellious teachings of modern Liberalism except we pray for strength to contend for the faith once delivered to the saints of old. If we as the believers in God's church today do not have our spiritual strength fill up constantly day by day, by the Holy Spirit, we will not be able to triumph over the growing power of spiritual wickedness threatening us today.

Tip! THE possibilities of prayer are gauged by faith in God's ability to do. Faith is the one prime condition by which God works.

How are we to rise above in opposition to the creeping paralyses that are the result of worthless programs and pointless plays promoted by the worldly-minded leaders in the church? It will require much prayer and unless we, the company of believers today, are ready with the power of the Holy Spirit we will not be able to handle the crisis that is confronting us in this day of ritual and unbelief.

Tip! What really determines’ the effectiveness of our labor for Christ is the measure of our faith and the fervency of our prayers. If our faith is poor and our praying is indifferent; how can we expect to achieve much for Him?

It is interesting to note that the company of believers did not ask the Lord to change the attitude of their enemies. God did not give in to their emotional prayer in the hour of crisis by extraordinarily changing the attitude of the determined opponents. God could have, but He did not remove the threat that endangered them; He did not even destroy the ring-leaders responsible for the persecution of the church. They, the small company of believers accepted the fact that such persecution had been prophesied and predicted in God's Word.

"...Thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ." -- Acts 4:25. (Psalm 2:1-3)

The Lord wants us to understand that suffering and persecution for His Name sake, is the price to be paid in blood and tears for the great pleasure of serving Him in a holy way in this life on earth.

We cannot Hope to Break Away from the Flood of Evil that Strains to Overcome Us by Faithless Prayer

Tip! Jesus said they were to do even greater works than He had achieved during His ministry in the world. Wow! Then our Master went on to show them that by praying in His Name, Jesus, this is the channel through which the authorized power is acquired to carry out the works that glorify our Father in the Son.

". . . When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they [spoke] the word of God with boldness." — Acts 4:31.

The apostles and the many devout believers in Jesus Christ were assembled together in one place for the express purpose of achieving victory by prayer over the opposition of wicked people. And they fully expected the Lord to answer their united prayers in His own way and in His own time. This remarkable manifestation of God showed them then, as will as it shows us now, the full effectiveness of prevailing prayer. It vividly made public the fact that prayer can accomplish much.

It is also obvious that neither the apostles, nor this company of devout believers who had see Jesus' ministry on earth was surprised at this wonderful visitation of God. Perhaps the quaking of the upper room where they were gathered together was an astonishing event, but the receiving of a direct answer to their persistent praying was neither strange nor unforeseen. The believers had come together for the particular reason, to pray to receive a miracle in the spiritual world, not for the purpose of making a spectacle in the natural world.

It is true; we do not need an eye-opening of the supernatural in order to capture the attention of this pleasure seeking world we live in. God will not very often shake off the restraints from His jailed saints, and open the doors of the prison with an earthquake. But He can and will do the unusual and the unexpected when necessary to show His glory.

So, if we do not require the Lord to do something to amaze us; don't you think however, that we do need Him to do something to alert us to our dangerous actions? How long can we ignore the fact that we urgently need a shocking demonstration of God to shake us out of our spiritual laziness and selfish complacency? Do we not substitute a program for power and have only the slightest appearance of hope that the unsaved will be attracted by it? What will it take for us to get with God's purpose?

Tip! If we, God’s people expect to carry out the works of Christ that will glorify our Father, then we must believe in Him for the very work’s sake, and pray fervently in His Name.

Here again we have the believers of God praying in their frantic catastrophe when they prayed, "...Lord, behold their threatening ..." We are very aware that some of the most lasting outcomes recorded in God's Holy Bible were accomplished when some committed person prayed in their time of crisis. Some examples that come to my mind are: the destruction of Sodom; how Abraham prevailed with God in prayer when the angelic messengers told him what was going to happen. Moses prayed unrelentingly for the people when they encountered the fierce anger of God because they were worshipping the golden calf. Then another critical time in the nation of Israel's life was when Elijah prayed earnestly for them to see the Glory of God on Mount Carmel. Jesus was also praying in an hour of crisis when He said, "...Father, the hour is come..." So it is the same with the believers in the upper room, they were confronted by a desperate situation when they said, "...Lord, behold their threatening..." With them, it was also a case of life or death, of victory or defeat. The odds against them were tremendously great, but the God that was for them was Almighty.

Tip! So when we ask Christ to carry out His works in our hearts we are fervently praying that our Father may be glorified in His Son.

They could have called a meeting of the "Official Board of the Apostles" to discuss the ways and means of escaping the primary issues involved. They could have taken shelter in an unbelievable doubt saying that nothing could be done to remedy the situation threatening them. Or they could have betrayed themselves by saying that things would work out acceptably for all parties involved.

But no, thanks' be to our Father, there is nothing at all in God's sacred records to show us that they had the slightest intent to compromise the truth in order to have favor with people. They were all willing to acknowledge the conflict that tested their faith and hope in God. In the sight of the Lord, these Jesus believers did what was the most natural thing; they assembled together with one accord in prayer, they lifted up their voice in one determined petition to Him for help.

We the believers in this time of grace had better wake up and pray. We need to be impressed by the victory reached by this small praying company of saints. Of course there are many things that threaten us today. We are threatened with serious turmoil that cannot be conquered unless we keep our strength renewed through prevailing prayer. We cannot hope to break away from the deluge of evil which threatens to overpower us, the believers of today, unless we are constantly replenished and re-invigorated by the Holy Spirit.

In that Glad Hour We will Experience a Glorious Freedom from God that We have Desired and Prayed For

Tip! It opens the door for salvations. (Act 2:42) “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers”.

"...What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." -- Mark 11:24.

Do you know what the main purpose of our Savior's sacrifice on the cross was? Was it not to save us from all sin and sufferings in this world? Is it not Jesus' purpose to present us spotless before the presence of the Father with exceeding great joy? And is it not also our Lord's plan to dry our tears forever, to open heaven's gates of pearl, and to give us an extravagant entry into the City of God? Yes! And again I say yes it is!

So when we pray and desire the forgiveness of our sin and ask Jesus to come into our hearts and request that He becomes the Master and Lord of our lives; we can believe that we have received Him and He has given us what we have asked for.

This is why it is permissible to interpret Jesus as saying, "Whatsoever things are required to satisfy you and sustain you in this holy way of life, when you pray, believe that you can obtain them, and you shall have them." You are not required to shed one tear of sorrow, nor squeeze out one drop of your blood, nor has it cost any of us one night of sleep to provide these things that are required to save us from the sin and sufferings in this world. Openhandedly God gave His only begotten Son to provide the things we need for time and eternity. Only the true love of our Father, Son and Holy Spirit could plan for such a rescue of humankind.

There should not be any unholy or selfish desires in the heart of a Christian. A true Christian is motivated to pray to our heavenly Father by their normal desires for spiritual food. Just like a hungry child is confident in asking their earthly father for food. The child's desire for food does not come because it is a force of habit, but it is a desire coming from the natural necessities of daily life. The motivation to pray for spiritual food and water is as normal as our desire for physical food and drink. The fact that this desire even exists is a helpful testimony that it can be fulfilled in a natural and genuine way.

Tip! “Intercession” is amplification in prayer; it is going out in broadness and fullness from ones self for others. Primarily, it does not center in praying for others, but refers to the freeness, boldness and childlike confidence in praying.

If there is a powerful desire for Christ like that of a hungry and thirsty person; such a desire cannot be satisfied with anything but a demonstration from our living Lord. This is a desire to know more about His love. This desire is to remain longer in sacred worship and to enjoy this holy relationship with Him in the quiet place of prayer known as the closet. A truly born again Christian says,

"My soul [follows] hard after thee…" - Psalm 63:8

And David as the inspired writer expressed his desire when he said,

Tip! THE possibilities of prayer are gauged by faith in God's ability to do. Faith is the one prime condition by which God works.

"As the hart [pants] after the water brooks, so [pants] my soul after thee, O God. My soul [thirsts] for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?" -- Psalm 42:1-2

People can earn their daily bread by working for it, and satisfy their physical thirst by drinking water. But a person that hungers and thirsts after Jesus Christ can only have the bread from heaven to satisfy this hunger. And only a drink of the living water from the fountain of life can satisfy this thirst that is spiritual.

We, who are truly God's people, desire a freedom that cannot be obtained while we live in this physical body. We long to be set free of our earthly bondage and to entry into the City of God. But while we are in this human body we desire, earnestly yearning not to be undressed or disembodied, but to have the resurrection body that Christ will give us.

Tip! 1 Timothy 2:1. Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,

"For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life." — 2 Corinthians 5:4

When time is over, the eternal purpose of Christ will have been completed. We, the saints of God, will be transported from this present world of sin and sorrows which has troubled us since the beginning of time, to the City of God. In that happy hour we will experience this glorious liberation of the sons and daughters of God that we have desired and prayed for.

All of God's redeemed children have no long-term city in this world; we are not of this earth. We are looking for a city that has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Our citizenship is in heaven; that is where we are also looking for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; the One who will change our sick bodies and make us like His glorious body; according to the work with which He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself. When these things happen, we will have achieved the end of our faith, because we will have received the salvation of our souls. That is what we have desired all along; to be with Jesus. And this is Jesus' main desire is to be with you forever. Are you ready?

We Must Think Clearly about our Lord’s Promise of Giving Us the Things Desired when we Pray in Faith

Tip! What really determines’ the effectiveness of our labor for Christ is the measure of our faith and the fervency of our prayers. If our faith is poor and our praying is indifferent; how can we expect to achieve much for Him?

"...What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." -- Mark 11:24.

Jesus Christ makes it very simple, whatever things that are necessary to satisfy our spiritual and earthly needs will be given according to the measure of our faith. Please notice He is not talking about our wants, He is referring to our needs! With these inspirational words of Jesus, He is showing us that He has obligated Himself to satisfy the continual and persistent needs or desires of His praying people. His words plainly leave no doubt in our minds concerning His eagerness to answer our requests.

Look again at the words that are written above; we must obey this basic law of faith. We must by genuinely believing that we receive the things desired when we pray. Otherwise, very simply, they will not be given to us. It is essential that we do some clear thinking in regards to our Lord's promise of giving us the things desired when we pray in faith.

There are some very unwise people who have interpreted Jesus as saying, "When ye pray, believe that you have the things desired, and you have them." Once more please look at what Jesus says above. It is hard to believe this idea that the Master is teaching about the prayer of faith. But look at it this way. No intelligent person can believe that they have received the things desired unless they actually have received them. Would it not be ridiculous to make such a claim in the light of this truth?

It is very deceptive and misleading to tell a person who is sincerely seeking and desiring a pure heart to believe that the blessing has been received when that person knows in their heart that it is not at all true. This absurd teaching leaves a person completely confused and very disappointed. A person must receive this from the Holy Spirit to validate the work of grace performed in the heart. An honest person cannot verify that they have been granted the things desired unless they know that they have received them from God.

We must never take for granted that we have the things we desire. Our faith does not rest on an assumption; our faith rests on the guarantee communicated to us by God's Spirit of Truth. When Jesus showed us His terms to satisfy our desires, He communicated the reason for us to pray. He is saying, "Whatsoever things you desire, when you pray, believe that God has provided them, and you will have them."

We must first have faith that the resources of God are made available to us through prayer. If we entertain the slightest doubt in our hearts regarding this fact, we cannot obtain the things desired to satisfy us in life.

Tip! So it is the same elsewhere in the Holy Bible (James 1:5) we have “asking” put into view as a prayer: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally, and upbraiding [scolding somebody] not, and it shall be given him.

While we are sincerely thinking on these incredible words of Jesus regarding the things we desire in prayer, let us not fail to notice the fact that He is talking about the mountain being removed at the word of command. If it is God's purpose to eliminate all the sin and the misery from this earth at His word of command, then would it not be true as well, that everything that is necessary to accomplish His purpose for His people is made accessible to them for the condition of redeeming grace? Of course! We have everything we desire to do His will, not ours, but His will be done.

When we truly look at this truth we can easily understand God's purpose in creating the throne of grace. Are we not told to come boldly to the throne of grace in our time of need? We can enthusiastically understand the real incentive to praying when we know that our rightful desires will be granted when we pray for the things that are appropriate to the plan of redemption as we have discovered in Christ. There is no provision made to humor our worldly desires, unless of course these things that we desire are honestly connected to Christ's plan of salvation. Quite simple really; His will be done. His will is that no one will parish, but that everyone will have everlasting life with Him.

When Speaking Prayers of Faith, Using His Words from the Holy Bible, We can Expect Things to Happen

Tip! Jesus promised to pass on the power from heaven to accomplish greater works for Him in this world. That promise is His Holy Spirit. Jesus intended for His chosen apostles to go and bring in a lot of fruit, the same goes for us.

"...Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he [says] shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he [says]."-- Mark 11:23

We find ourselves once more looking at this truth that was opened by our Master concerning the mountain being removed at a word of command. Please take notice of the fact that Jesus first spoke the words, "...Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea…" We must assume that the mountain is the symbolic form used to show the accumulation of human anguish and pain caused by sin in this world. We also must see that it is possible to have this mass of human misery removed by speaking the living words of Jesus when we prayer. It is obvious that we can enter in to His faith and connect with His omnipotent power to reach the victory over sin and death while on earth. But we must pray without any doubt in our hearts, so we can share Christ's faith to achieve the purpose of the Father. When we speak our prayers using His words from the Holy Bible, we have an official reason from Jesus, to expect the things we say to happen.

Our prayers can clinch every word of promise and every word of purpose spoken by our Lord in His Word. Our faith and prayers can join His faith and prayers and support Him in the final completion of His and our Father's will and work. When using this gracious truth for the things which Christ has spoken in clear expressions of eternal truth, it is not hard to understand that our prayer of faith becomes an important part of the whole plan of redemption. We are assured that every word spoken in prayer will be answered in the final return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Because it is written,

"And He shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began." Acts 3:20, 21

Tip! God’s people do not have authorization to demand the Savior’s promise of, “...Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do,” in order to gain something very special for themselves.

Paul unmistakably shows this final victory of Christ when he said,

"Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death." — 1 Corinthians 15:24-26

Our hope and expectation is built on nothing less then Jesus' blood and righteousness. For the final rescue from all the effects of evil in our bodies and minds will be accomplished when He comes to be glorified in us, His saints, and to be accepted in all of us who believe in and are waiting for that day. When He appears we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is. We will share in His final victory over disease and death. We will hear Him say to that mountain of sufferings, "...Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea...," and this will happen.

Tip! So when we ask Christ to carry out His works in our hearts we are fervently praying that our Father may be glorified in His Son.

In sight of this reassuring hope let us continue to pray in faith, without any doubt in our hearts. Let us rest our faith on the undying love of Christ, asking for nothing more than to be counted worthy of His pleasure to the end of life on this earth, or until He comes for us.

Can We Pray Without Any Doubt Regarding the Purpose of God? If God be for Us, Who can be Against Us?

Tip! If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ and want to know for sure that you are a child of God, then I would like to invite you to earnestly pray and ask Jesus to come into your heart.

The Scriptures tell us that we can pray without a doubt concerning the purpose of God. Then what is God's eternal purpose? God's plan is; in Christ to save all people from all sin on the condition that we repent of our sin and believe in Jesus Christ. Christ has faith in His own ability to complete our Father's purpose by re-establishing us, the fallen people, to the original and moral image of God. What will prevent Him from satisfying His eternal purpose as described in the divine plan of salvation? Nothing! Again I say there is not the remotest possibility that His faultless plan of redemption can fail. We are guaranteed in the Holy Bible that the gates of hell will not prevail against Christ's indestructible church, paid for by His blood, gifted, and endued by His Holy Spirit.

Maybe this is what Paul's endless challenge to the Roman Church was when he said these words.

"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?" -- Romans 8:31.

Once we have a proper understanding of this concept of God's unchallengeable plan as shown in His Word, it will be easy to pray without any doubt what so ever in our hearts. Again let us look at our Savior's words, "...And shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he [says] shall come to pass..." For clarity, let us highlight the words, "... Shall come to pass... When will these things that we say and ask in our prayers happen? When may we realistically expect every prayer to be answered?

The things we have said in prayer will come to pass when everything that has been spoken by our Lord will come to pass. At the moment that God's plan of salvation has been completed, and then all things spoken by His Son Jesus, and everything spoken by the mouth of His holy prophets, and all the things ever spoken in the prayers of His faithful people will come to pass. In the "fullness of time" God sent His Son for our redemption, the same is true for the things that we say and ask for in our prayers, at the right time and in our Father's time.

Tip! Praise and thanksgiving – This is the earnest, heartfelt prayer where we come before the Lord thanking and praising him for his mighty power and love. We may praise him in both our earthly and spiritual language.

The Scriptures verify that God's purpose is to save everyone completely that come to Him through Christ Jesus. This is the only way to God, which is through Jesus. God's greatest ability was required to save us from the massive total of our sin. To be saved to the uttermost according to the purpose of Christ, means to be set free from all sin in this current life here on earth. Also it means to have the freedom from the effects of sin in our body and mind in the life to come.

Tip! Jesus said they were to do even greater works than He had achieved during His ministry in the world. Wow! Then our Master went on to show them that by praying in His Name, Jesus, this is the channel through which the authorized power is acquired to carry out the works that glorify our Father in the Son.

Can we pray without a doubt in our hearts concerning a complete liberation from sin in this present life? And will it happen? Absolutely! But we must be patient and wait until Christ's last victory over sin and death before we can be set free from the consequences of sin here on earth. However, we can pray without any doubt in our hearts about our last freedom, and it will happen according to the purpose of God.

When Christ has satisfied His eternal plan in the redemption of His people, then, and only then will the mountain of human misery and affliction be removed from this earth. When we see this truth as shown in the Holy Bible, we can know that every prayer presented without a doubt in our hearts will for sure be answered in full.

Without Christ's authority the things we say in prayer are powerless and meaningless. But if the things we say in our prayers are the things that He has said in His Word, then we can pray without any doubt in our hearts whatsoever.

Nothing can Stop Jesus in Bringing Many People to Glory According to the Will of Our Heavenly Father

If a person can plan to build a house long before the foundation is started, and if we can make plans for a happy family before any children are born to delight our hearts. And it is also correct to say that a family can come into the same belief and support to reach their purpose in this life. Then unquestionably would it not be feasible for the redeemed family of Christ to be able to enter into His faith? To participate in His eternal purpose to achieve the final victory over sin and death? Of course, and the Scriptures tell us that Christ works in harmony with His own faith. His people will enter into His faith and work with Him to complete His purpose in the redemption plan.

The fact that Jesus' works are according to His own faith is as clear as the fact that we work according to our own faith. The Son of God has never been limited by circumstances, nor has He ever been lacking in sufficient resources to supply all the needs of His family on this earth. Nothing will put a stop to Him from bringing as many sons and daughters to His glory as are in the will of our heavenly Father.

We can boldly pray without any doubt regarding the power of God. When we consider Jesus' statement about removing the mountain at a word of command, we can see the accuracy about Christ's eternal truths. We are conscious that the mountain does not have the power within itself to obey this command, "...Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea..." It is also quite obvious that this mountain can not be removed by any efforts of a person. So, therefore we must conclude that the person speaking these words to remove this mountain has access to a power adequate to remove this mountain and to have it thrown into the sea.

Tip! If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ and want to know for sure that you are a child of God, then I would like to invite you to earnestly pray and ask Jesus to come into your heart.

Of course we are aware that the Master's words are figurative but yet they are very much factual. This mountain obviously represents something that is in God's will to be removed only in answer to a prayer of faith. These words of Jesus certify us to say that this power is made available only to His praying people through faith. If this is not the truth then we must conclude that the words of Christ have no meaningful purpose in today's difficult troubles that we face in our daily lives.

Then let us assume that this mountain represents the accumulation of human misery caused by sin in this troubled and dieing world of ours. It is positively true that no one has power within themselves to remove the mass of physical and mental sufferings caused by sin in this world. It is equally true that none of us has the strength or will to remove the mountain of iniquity that stands between us and a holy God. Sin rests on our guilty souls like the weight of the hills. Our load of wickedness gives us a cumbersome heart and a troubled spirit. When we look at the stockpile of human suffering resulting from sin, we can picture the overwhelming difficulties confronting humankind in this troubled world. The incomprehensible sufferings rooted by the sins of people amount to a mountain of misery and anguish more alarming and frightening than all the sheer heights and impassable rocks of earth's tallest peaks.

Tip! THE possibilities of prayer are gauged by faith in God's ability to do. Faith is the one prime condition by which God works.

But, thanks be to God, Christ is our only hope for deliverance in this miserable world. If faith in Him cannot bring the power necessary to overcome these difficulties, then faith has failed completely to achieve the victory we have a right to expect in the light of God's trustworthy promises. The everlasting Word proclaims, "...The just shall live by faith." How is it possible for us to obey this fundamental law of life? Can we not expect to gain for ourselves the power adequate to overcome every opposing force? Only if we do not doubt God's willingness to pass on to His praying saints a sufficiency of spiritual strength to deal with the trials that are experienced in this life. The Holy Scriptures are full of the victories achieved by the saints of God who were made undying in sacred history by their determined courage and steadfast faith.

Tip! “Supplication” is the very soul of prayer in the way of pleading for some one thing, very much needed, and the need intensely felt.

So let us pray willingly the prayer of faith, not with any doubt in our hearts, but believing that strength will be given day by day to overcome our struggles in life. Let us not hesitate in the way as we travel in the direction of the fadeless morning of that eternal day.
