Our God Assures Us that All Things Work Together for Good to Them That Love Him, and Do His Purpose

Tip! So it is the same elsewhere in the Holy Bible (James 1:5) we have “asking” put into view as a prayer: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally, and upbraiding [scolding somebody] not, and it shall be given him.

We will prevail in our prayers and have victory over all the combined forces of evil that terrorize us in these trying times, if we will believe the words, "Lord, thou art God," this will strengthen our faith and underline our thinking. Has our Almighty God abandon His eternal purpose because a few evil people have raised their voices against Him? Of course not! Our God has assured us that all things work together for good to them that love Him, to them who are the called according to His purpose. His permanent promises give us a strong comfort to hold on too, and of the hope set ahead of us. We must hold fast to the profession of our faith without indecision; because He is faithful who has promised.

That small assembled company of praying people prayed that the ambassadors of God's Word would have the courage needed to speak the Word. They asked,

"...Grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word." -- Acts 4:29

God's people were not praying for courage because they were moral cowards. They were very aware of the dangers that jeopardized them; but they were not too cowardly to face it with God's help. This voice of prayer was in one accord and heard by our Father in heaven. The answer was granted when the small group of devout saints prayed this unrelenting prayer in their time of crisis. Remember when the rulers of the people, and the elders in Israel had called Peter and John in to face the council of the governing branch of that day? Remember they were commanded never to speak about or teach in the name of Jesus? Wow! What a great event! Remember Peter and John's answer? Read about it yourself in Acts 4:18-19, however, read the whole chapter 4; it will revive your spirit and excite your soul to see what God will do for you in answer to prayer.

Tip! “Asking of God” and “receiving” from the Lord - direct request to God, immediate connection with God - that is true prayer.

The very heart of the Gospel is contained in the Name of Jesus. We as God's called servants could never heed to this extremely evil command. How could we be faithful to the high calling of God in Christ Jesus if we obeyed such a wicked command? In order to comply with such an unjust demand, never to speak at all nor teach again in the Name of Jesus, we would have to compromise the very truth of Christ. We would have to stop drawing attention to the fundamental theme of the Gospel's meaning, which is Jesus Christ.

God's everlasting kingdom will never be destroyed by the combined forces of the ungodly. Almighty God is never in jeopardy. He has no fear of mortal people. He will remain unchallengeable in purpose and unconquerable in power for evermore. Think about what this praying party of Jesus' followers said about God's enemies,

"For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done." -- Acts 4:27, 28

The conscienceless Herod and the cowardly Pontius Pilate are dead now. Their cruel hostility to Christ is dead and buried in the grave of that time. The violent skepticism and critical unbelief that ran extensively, less than a century ago, has stopped, in the most part, because it does not take up a popular place in a more Christ-receiving world today. This violent Liberalism that badly affects Christ's church today will soon be dead as well, buried together with the modern nonbelievers who have encouraged its destructive and deadly views on innocent people.

Tip! The Holy Bible says in (John 5:13) this statement about prayer: “And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

The continuous marching of time can never erase His unrivaled Name from the chronicles of sacred history. Possibly the sands have washed away the footprints of our Jesus of Galilee, but the world will never forget that He did live, love, and labor to save us from eternal death in Hell. The myriad of centuries that have rushed into the dateless past have not weakened His strength or ability to save us to the maximum. The last depressing day of time will not find Him buried in a tomb of that period. The evading ghost of eternity will never discover the grave of God. Why? Because He has risen so that we serve a live and healthy Savior that time has no control of; so of Him it is written,

"And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail." -- Heb. 1:10-12.
